How live tracking of the delivery person brings you more than just a great customer experience!

Every company naturally wants to provide an excellent customer experience, including during delivery. Being able to track the delivery person live is incredibly important for this!

This means customers will never have to wait unnecessarily again. That might sound like an expense, but make no mistake, live tracking actually provides you with direct benefits!

Tomorrow's Delivery

Picnic started it: minute-by-minute live tracking of the delivery person right to the doorstep. It gave customers real-time insight into the arrival time, just like Uber already offered. The new standard has been set! Since then, consumers expect to be informed in real-time so they know exactly when the delivery person will arrive. Being able to track your order right to the doorstep ensures the recipient is always informed and no longer has to wait unnecessarily. Adding this functionality to your delivery service naturally increases customer satisfaction and loyalty, but the benefits go beyond that..

Gain half an hour a day?

Delivery services that use live tracking experience more benefits than just an increase in customer satisfaction. They notice that since offering this service, customers are often already waiting at the doorstep to receive their package. Yes, really! And this saves time, a lot of time. Imagine driving a route through the city center, where the delivery person often waits for the customer to come down from the fourth floor to accept the package. Let's say this takes an average of 1 minute. Does your driver make 5 stops per hour? Then that quickly saves them 5 minutes per hour! Over an entire route, they gain an average of half an hour of time. Half an hour that you don't have to pay them for, or in which they can deliver two extra packages! And even if you don't change anything, you simply give your delivery person some extra breathing room to calmly complete their route. And don't forget, in those saved minutes, the van isn't blocking the road, and your driver gets less soaked by that huge downpour that's just passing through. Good for their mood!

A delivery that feels like an appointment

Furthermore, live tracking of the delivery person to the doorstep makes customers feel like they have an appointment. If you know exactly when the delivery person is coming, you make more effort to actually be home. This means your delivery person is less likely to find no one home. Even if they're very late sometimes – because, well, you couldn't have foreseen that huge traffic jam – your customers can track this precisely in the app. Being late can happen occasionally, as long as you ensure your customer is always well-informed. And don't forget the calls you save your customer service team, where customers ask where the driver is. If your customer can see this for themselves, your staff will have time for other things!
