Increased Online Sales Due to Corona
People are ordering online en masse. And all of it needs to be delivered to homes. In April of this year, online sales were 62.4% higher than in April 2019. This is not surprising, as Prime Minister Rutte asked us to stay home as much as possible during the early days of Corona. The result? Jigsaw puzzles, canned vegetables, and even toothbrushes were hoarded online en masse and delivered to homes.
A good thing for delivery services, it seemed. But then the first customers started experiencing delivery shame. The delivery of all those packages had a significant impact on our immediate environment. Because if customers weren't home when their package was delivered, the delivery van had to drive back and forth. Or consider everything that was returned and thus had to be picked up again. Or that last-minute delivery for which an extra trip had to be scheduled? All CO2 emissions! And that's how it happened: delivery shame was thrust into 2020.
Tackling Delivery Shame
How do you combat delivery shame, you ask? How do you ensure your customers overcome their delivery shame? The answer is simple: RoutiGo. RoutiGo has developed smart software for planning and executing efficient routes. And if there's one thing you can offer your customers in 2020, it's sustainable delivery. Furthermore, customers are kept informed of the exact delivery times of their packages via the application's dashboard. Even now that they are going out more, they will always be home at the time of delivery, meaning packages no longer need to be sent back to the distribution center. And that's not even mentioning the delivery shame of customers who want to prevent their neighbors from knowing the “ins and outs” of their online shopping cart. All of that is a thing of the past with RoutiGo's software!
