AVH Outdoor sells garden furniture — from ottomans to lounge sets — throughout the country. Until two years ago, the company was run by six men and women, today there are no less than forty employees. “We've made a name for ourselves,” says Jasper van der Linden, online marketing manager. “That has resulted in significant growth, which is not only reflected in the number of employees, but also in the number of buses that we have around.”
“We started more than five years ago with one modest bus that delivered our furniture, and that number grew slowly. We did the planning in Excel from the start. That went well, until at one point we drove around with seven buses, when Excel didn't really offer a workable solution anymore. Planning the routes became far too time-consuming. '
“We were looking for a stable route planning system. The requirement, however, was that it could be integrated with our Lightspeed webshop software. RoutiGo's planning software can do that. Besides that, it just felt good. It is a modern company, their website looks good and sleek and their message is clear. In short, RoutiGo really stands out for us. We then invited them for an interview and the rest is history. '
It is of course nice that the Routigo software integrates well with Lightspeed, but Jasper sees more advantages for AVH Outdoor: “It actually works just like Appie, if something goes wrong along the way, or the delivery person is delayed by an hour for another reason, the customer will receive a message. Of course, it's annoying that their furniture is delivered a little later, but if that's the case, it's better to know than when you're waiting. '
Of course, a supplier of garden furniture often delivers to new residential areas. “That's why the integration with Google Maps is also great for us. After all, that is the system that releases updates the fastest. Other systems are often lagging behind, so entire neighborhoods are still unknown. And RoutiGo's smart way of planning is very efficient. In the past, it has often happened that three cars drove around in the same neighborhood. That may happen once, but it is a shame. Now it only happens if — for whatever reason — we consciously choose to do so. '
From March, the busy period will begin at AVH Outdoor. “From then on, no new software systems will be integrated. If something goes wrong, the misery is incalculable. We therefore started RoutiGo during the quieter period, so that we could test at our leisure. The implementation went well and we will be fully operational from March. What we've experienced so far is promising and I'm convinced we're going to save a lot of time. '
